West Sedona residents are being asked to use caution when out walking after a mountain lion was sighted in the area of Calle Linda in the Casa Contenta subdivision.

A resident in the area reported the sighting just after 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15. According to a report from the Sedona Casa Contenta Homeowners Association, the animal was seen in front of a residence. Other reports have placed mountain lion sightings in Uptown and on Soldier Pass Road.

Resident Bill Lundy said the Casa Contenta mountain lion was likely young, due to its size.
