If the Homeowners association was absorbing "the full cost of the event" why was there a per person charge to enter the event?

We are sadden by their decision to no longer hold this fun event. We have brought many friends and relatives to enjoy the lights. Perhaps you should have kept the money to pay costs and given the remainder to Charity.

I guess this is a reflection of the poor management of the event. Chalk up one more event that has been a local staple of the community that has gone away due to the leaders of the event placing their own personal accolades ahead of the purpose of the event.

I am absolutely saddened by the cancellation of this event. As the daughter of a longtime participant it make me absolutely sick to my stomach that due to that this event was cancelled for the reasons cited. Majority of the participants would not have minded paying more fees to continue this event. Slowly over the years the event had been scaled back much to the dissatisfaction of many who participated. Bring the event back next year and help restore this event to its full glory!!!

As the daughter of someone who was a longtime participant of this event and it make me deeply depressed to read that the event was cancelled. I used to go up to the resort during the setup for the event with my dad, and watching the lights turn on was exciting to me even as an adult. I just hope that next.year the event will return, and hopefully to his former glory!

this is so sad I was planning to make a point of going to Sedona strictly for this event that now no longer exists I wish if they had seen it coming they would have started a charity to raise money for this event

Sadly, writing this from Prescott, where we took our two families, of eight people instead. What a shame. I don't see how the HOA absorbed the cost when I think we paid $10 per person last year. Seems like Sedona is going to miss out on a lot of tourist dollars. We hope it comes back next year.
