Lucile Cox, 100, of Sedona, died Sept. 24.

She was born Nov. 23, 1911, in Muskogee, Okla.

She taught first grade for 35 years. She said the secret of her long life was not to take anything too seriously.

She is survived by her brother C.A. Overstreet, several nieces and nephews, godson Stan and Jane Wrightsman, their families and many friends.

A memorial service was held at The Church of the Red Rocks. Memorial contributions can be made to the Humane Society of Sedona.
