The Fifty Shades trilogy by E.L. James, has taken Sedona by storm, according to a bookstore owner in the Village of Oak Creek. The erotic fiction novels continue to sell out at his store and are frequently requested at the Sedona Public Library, which has 100 holds for the books. Internationally, the series, which is notable for its explicitly erotic scenes, has already sold more than 10 million copies.

The book has a way of getting people hot under the collar — in more ways than one.

Written by E.L. James, the “Fifty Shades” trilogy has become a hot commodity in Red Rock Country. The series of erotically charged novels continues to top best-seller lists across the country and across the globe, including The New York Times and Amazon best-seller lists.

In the Sedona area, readers can’t seem to get enough of the adventures of the dashing Christian Grey and innocent Anastasia Steele, the book’s lead characters. “Fifty Shades of Grey” continues to sell out at the book store in the Village of Oak Creek and has over 100 holds placed on it at the Sedona Public Library.

“Fifty Shades of Grey” joins the ranks of other popular books with similar themes, including “The Story of O” written by Pauline Reage and “92 Weeks: A Memoir of a Love Affair” by Elizabeth McNeill. Like them, “Fifty Shades of Grey” has been the target of national attention due to its racy, sexual content.
