Sedona Red Rock High School football coach Rick Walsworth resigned last month after four seasons as head football coach.

Walsworth, an offensive coordinator at Mingus Union High School before being hired as the head coach of Scorpion football, compiled an 18-34 overall record in his four seasons.

He led the team to its first playoff appearance in a decade in 2012 and had plus-.500 finishes in each of the last two seasons, steadily advancing the program since a 2-9 finish in his first season in 2010.

“In four years, he grew the program and laid a tremendous foundation,” said SRRHS principal Darrin Karuzas. “He said he just wanted a change of pace, that was the football reason.”
