Three days after the traffic light at Coffee Pot Drive/Sunset Drive and State Route 89A was knocked out of commission by a reported lightning strike late Tuesday, Jan. 9, city officials said they expect the damage to repaired after noon today, Friday, Jan. 12.
Crews from the Arizona Department of Transportation are working with the city to have the light repaired today. City officials said the goal is to have the light repaired by noon, but it could be later in the afternoon before full repairs are completed.
For the last three days, Sedona police officers and police volunteers have been directing traffic in the intersection most of the day. The lights have been flashing yellow or red, indicating drivers should stop at the intersection regardless of traffic flow.
Please practice caution when approaching the intersection whether officers are present or not.
