Laxmidas Velji Popat

Laxmidas Velji [L.V.] Popat, 85, of Sedona, died Sept. 12.

Born in Pune, India, he was a civil engineer, and studied many philosophies and religions. He traveled to China to became a QiGong instructor. He also taught classes for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Yavapai College.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores [Dee] Popat; ex-wife, Saroj Popat; sons Bharat [Villa] Popat and Kaushik [Bina] Popat; Priti [Mark] Copeland; and five grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, Oct. 14, at 11 a.m. at Yavapai College’s Sedona Campus. In lieu of flowers, donations to the OLLI program are suggested.
