Strong played baseball for the Scorpions from 2002 to 2006 and went to Arizona State University to attend school.

He stayed in baseball shape by playing club baseball for the Northern Arizona All-Stars team for two seasons.

The NAAS season runs only during the summer, but he was noticed by a scout for SDCC.

“I enjoyed my time with the all-stars team, but this is what I really want to do, and that is play baseball in college,” Strong said.

Strong, 19, was then recruited by Brown, who is in his 17th year of coaching at the community college level and his seventh at SDCC.

Brown has also been involved with the United States baseball team for several years.

“Coach Brown has been involved with baseball for many years, and I look forward to playing for him,” Strong said.

Brown was unavailable for comment.

The dream is still alive in Strong, as he is committing to play baseball for a solid junior college baseball program.

“I want to move on to the next level, a Division I school or even the minor leagues. This is the next step for me,” Strong said.

Strong will also be looking forward to just a change of scenery.

“I grew up in Sedona, and I’ve been in Arizona my entire life. San Diego brings a new challenge and a new environment,” Strong said.

“I’m very excited,” he added.
