The first hearing in a trial preceding for a Village of Oak Creek man accused of sexual assault, kidnapping and sexual abuse is set for Monday, Oct. 1.

Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested John Allen Frank, 56, on Aug. 22 for alleged sexual conduct with a teenage boy at the Horse Mesa Ranch stables in the Village of Oak Creek.

According to YCSO Public Information Officer Susan Quayle, the victim is a 15-year-old boy.

Frank faces charges of three counts of sexual assault, a class two felony; one count of kidnapping, a class two felony; and one count of sexual abuse, a class five felony.

Frank pled not guilty to the charges, according to Penny Cramer, Yavapai County Attorney’s Office administrative assistant.

Authorities investigated the allegations Aug. 21 and then arrested Frank at his home on Bell Rock Boulevard on
Aug. 22.

The Oct. 1 hearing is a case management hearing where attorneys determine if a plea agreement can be reached or if the trail continues. Yavapai County Superior Court Judge Warren R. Darrow will preside.

Punishment for a class two felony — sexual assault and kidnapping — is up to five years in prison and up to one and a half years for a class 5 felony — sexual abuse.

Frank is being held without bail at the Yavapai County Detention Center, in Camp Verde.
