DPS stops 847 impaired drivers

Arizona Department of Public Safety officers arrested 847 people for driving under the influence from Nov. 22 to Jan. 4.

The arrests are a result of seven law enforcement task forces throughout the state.

Of the 847 arrested, 120 were charged with DUI.

“We at DPS are proud to be a part of the various DUI task forces operating throughout the state. Unfortunately, the number of arrested impaired drivers is on the increase but the good news is they are being taken off the streets by our officers and that helps insure public safety,” APS Director Roger Vanderpool said.
