According to Sgt. K.F. Ahern, of the Sedona Police Department, the Jeep was a rental vehicle with California plates and the driver of the Honda is a local woman.

Initial reports were that the Jeep was turning left from the eastbound center lane into the Sedona Rouge Resort & Spa parking lot between two westbound lanes of cars that had stopped to allow it through when it was struck by the Honda, which was travelling southbound in the right turning lane.

The Sedona Fire District responded to the accident as well, providing treatment at the scene and transportation to hospital along with traffic control and clean-up.

Further information on the victims was not immediately available.
