ADOT cleans debris off 89A in canyon1 min read

     The Arizona Department of Transportation announced that maintenance crews will be working for the next three weeks throughout Oak Creek Canyon, picking up rocks, trees and other debris that fell onto the shoulders of the roadway during the past winter’s storms.

      Work will take place on Hwy. 89A between mile posts 375 and 390 from the Sedona city limits to the top of the switchbacks from Monday, April 28, through Thursday, May 15.

     The Arizona Department of Transportation announced that maintenance crews will be working for the next three weeks throughout Oak Creek Canyon, picking up rocks, trees and other debris that fell onto the shoulders of the roadway during the past winter’s storms.

      Work will take place on Hwy. 89A between mile posts 375 and 390 from the Sedona city limits to the top of the switchbacks from Monday, April 28, through Thursday, May 15.

      Crews will work 10-hour days Monday to Thursday.

      One lane of the roadway will be closed in the vicinity of each work area to accommodate workers and equipment.

      According to Rod Wigman, of ADOT, flaggers will be present and delays kept to a minimum.
