YSW Director Steve Skurja is still looking for donations to support the event. Area residents are being asked to donate prizes for golfers, or donate cash which can be used to purchase golf-related prizes. Sponsorships for individual holes are also still available.
Yavapai Silent Witness is a nonprofit corporation hosted by YCSO. This event is expected to raise much-needed funds to support the reward program. YCSO reports YSW has been very successful already this year, enticing people to call and help law enforcement agencies throughout Yavapai County solve crimes.
In July alone, YCSO reported a total of 15 people arrested on 32 felony charges as a result of Silent Witness tips. This includes the arrest of two burglary and ID theft suspects in the Rimrock area who were committing crimes in Camp Verde.
During the month, a variety of drugs and two handguns were seized. A total of
$1,650 in cash rewards was offered to the 15 successful callers.
YCSO reported the Silent Witness program has been a critical component in the success of several investigations and many of the partnering agencies who receive tips. They ask the public to consider participating in this event in support of the program.
