The Arizona Department of Transportation is reporting poor visibility due to high winds and blowing dust between Flagstaff and Winslow on Interstate 40.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety  and ADOT are currently escorting traffic through a four-mile segment of Interstate 40 close to the Junction of State Route 99.

Public safety is ADOT’s highest priority and the situation is being monitored closely, according to a press release. The highway is open, but traffic is being slowed and escorted through the area until visibility improves.

Drivers can get the latest information about highway restrictions via ADOT’s Travel Information site at www.az511.com or by calling 5-1-1.
