The weird hot, then cold, then hot, then cold again weather the Verde Valley has experienced lately isn’t going to stop the Sedona Parks and Recreation Department from opening the Sedona Community Pool in West Sedona to the public Saturday, May 29.

With school coming to a close, it’s a perfect time for a little fun in the sun. Make sure to bring the sunscreen.

The good news for swim fans out there is the Sedona Community Pool, which is near Posse Grounds Park, will be open until Sunday, Aug. 8.

That gives everyone 10 weeks to come out and splash some water during free swim, take in a few laps, or join a water aerobics class.

Either way, there’s something for everyone at the Sedona Community Pool.

Cost

First, we should immediately get out of the way what it actually costs to come swim this summer.

Admission for children ages up to 2 is free, while children up to age 3 to 17 cost just $2 a visit. For adults, it’s $3 a visit and for seniors 55 and over, it’s $2.

For a 30-visit children’s pass [ages 3 to 17] it’s $45, and for an adult 30-visit pass, it’s only $75.

Buying passes in bulk saves nearly 20 percent in the long run, making it easier on mom’ and dad’s wallets.

For aerobics classes, it’s $5 a visit or $40 for a 10-visit pass or $80 for a 20-visit pass.

Masters swim is $5 daily. Group swim lessons are $35, which includes eight classes over a two-week period. Each private swim lesson is $15.
