I had always been the one who got the latest gadgets years after everyone else. It took me forever to get a VCR, cordless phone, CD player, laptop, then forever again to get a DVD player. Eventually I got a cell phone, but it wasn’t smart. That was fine with me. I didn’t care.
But look at me now. I’ve been loving my DVR for some time, have the flat screen with HD, and know how to upload a video to youtube, privatize links, plus keep others’ videos from showing after my video plays. Took me a while but I joined the twitterati and though I thought I never would, placed my ‘face on book’; (cute play on words?) late last year. I am now an I-Phone 4S lover and with my entry into the present future, I hardly recognize myself…but the photos and videos are so pixel-perfect!
I have been shot out of a cannon from prehistoric living into the cutting edge of techno wars. People want to know who has the best or latest phone or navigation system, bluetooth in the car, serious radio (spelling on purpose), etc.
Who would have thought I would be sitting on the shoulders of giants, held up as a techno star. Not only does my car navigate, phone and more, by the touch of a button or my voice command, but so does my new hand-held phone. I get satellite-fed radio shows in my car, laptop and phone. I’m hands-free on the car system, and tell my hand phone who to reach by text, email or to call, and what to say, saving myself mundane typing and time. I can also search the internet and check my email messages, from my hand (well, you know, not literally).
We can see each other on my skype (sedonarachel) and on my phone. That doesn’t mean I always want to be seen but I can communicate more personally in this virtual new world and you can see the nuances on my face, as I emote, rather than just read my words or hear them.
Why, I even email my clients a video of me after our spiritual Reading, gifting them some goodies. That allows us to be together again and remembering their positive and empowering, insightful consultation that we shared. Is a time coming for newspaper blogs to become a newspaper blog video? Should I prepare for that bigger world yet?
Currently I’m getting advice how to sync the music from my phone to my car, and investigating ways to record our Reading to email or copy it to a CD, for my clients to have immediately, versus only offering prehistoric cassette tapes, and without making a huge investment. I welcome your knowledge on that, and I know I haven’t even scratched the surface what else is available in the gadgetry that I already have ?!
It’s all such fun, and now I wonder…will I be out of date tomorrow? What’s around the corner? Am I becoming techno-holic? Are there support group meetings for this yet? Hi, my name is…
