Following last year’s flooding, city staff are planning ahead prior to the beginning of the 2012 monsoon.

Sedona City Council unanimously approved a pre-monsoon maintenance program during its regular meeting Tuesday, April 24, following a brief presentation on the effort by city staff. The monsoon typically begins in mid-June.

The pre-monsoon maintenance effort is slated to cost approximately $50,000. Money for the effort will be paid via this year’s operating contingency funds, according to Sedona City Manager Tim Ernster.
