Residential trail access is for light use1 min read

Access points to public lands from within the city of Sedona are numerous, but those in residential neighborhoods are typically reserved for light foot traffic.

With trail access sites across Sedona, including residential areas on Farmer Brothers Road, El Camino Road and Dove Wing Drive among others, the question of parking has been a cause for concern among some residents. On Dove Wing Drive, notes have been placed on vehicles warning visitors to the trail access site they cannot park there, despite the fact the vehicles are parked on city property.

Director of Community Development John O’Brien said the Dove Wing access issue has been resolved.

“The issue is whether there’s public access at the end of Dove Wing Drive into the [U.S.] Forest Service [property]. Our position is there is public access, but a neighbor in that area was concerned about people going into the forest at that point, thinking maybe there wasn’t public access,” O’Brien said.
