A popular, local bluegrass band, Muskellunge Bluegrass, will return to the Sedona Bluegrass Festival after four years.

“It’s time to bring our hometown band back into the picture,” said Bert Harclerode, executive director of Chamber Music Sedona, which sponsors the festival. “It really has its thumb on the heart of bluegrass, and steps out beyond. Muskellunge adds a wonderful flavor and taste of some stylistic bluegrass.”

Muskellunge will lead the festival’s Sunday, June 3, concert at Los Abrigados Creekside. The last time it played the festival was in 2008, Harclerode said.

Nolan McKelvey, guitar and vocals; Tim Hogan, bass and vocals; Frank Dedera, banjo; and Aaron Tyler, mandolin and vocals, formed Muskellunge six years ago. Tyler lives and works in Sedona.
