A man in Cottonwood stands accused of throwing a Molotov cocktail at a Verde Valley Medical Center medevac helicopter.

On May 25 at about 2:39 a.m., a suspect allegedly threw a beer bottle with a lit accelerant at the Guardian Air Bell 407 helicopter damaging the front fuselage, windshield, cockpit and control panel, according to Cottonwood police.

The helicopter is valued at approximately $3.7 million. One of the pilots estimated the damage to be somewhere between $200,000 and a total loss depending on the severity.
