Fire restrictions go to Stage 21 min read

More fire restrictions are now in effect across the Coconino National Forest.

Stage 2 fire restrictions began across the Sedona area Wednesday, June 6, due to extremely high fire danger in Northern Arizona.

Stage 2 restrictions prohibit the use of chain saws in the national forest between the hours of 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., using a firearm unless legally hunting, using a torch [for welding and other uses] with an open flame, the use of explosives and the use of any external or internal combustion engine that does not have a “spark-arresting” device installed. The device must be shown to be in proper working order. Pressurized liquid or gas stoves and lanterns, which can be turned on and off, are still allowed under the Stage 2 restrictions.
