Teachers in the Sedona-Oak Creek School District received an added bonus this year thanks to funds from Proposition 301, performance pay and the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act education jobs initiative.
For the 2011-2012 school year, teachers will see an added $5,000 boost to their individual annual incomes, $2,000 more than what eligible full-time teachers received in the 2010-2011 school year.
The boost, according to SOCSD Finance Director Colleen McCabe, amounts to a 7.5 percent increase to the starting base salary of every full-time teacher in the district.
