It’s officially summer, and that means the Sedona Summer Softball League is in full swing.

Two Sedona teams, first-timers Enchantment (2-1) and the veteran Night Ballers (0-3), were pitted against each other Thursday, June 21, at Posse Grounds Park.

With Don McComb umpiring, the action started right away.

Roger Ripley, 65, took position on the pitcher’s mound for Enchantment, pitching the entire game for the first time in 25 years.

The Night Ballers hit two singles right away, followed by a double which resulted in two runs. Not long after that, the Night Ballers hit another double allowing another run in, making it 3-0.

In the bottom of the first inning, Enchantment hit single after single, which gave them two runs, making it 3-2 Night Ballers at the end of the first inning.
