YCSO to staff a hub in VOC1 min read

A tentative date of Sunday, Sept. 2, has been announced for a staffed Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office station in the Village of Oak Creek.

A substation is currently located in the VOC, but it is not staffed by YCSO on a regular basis. A full-time receptionist operates the center. YCSO Media Coordinator Dwight D’Evelyn said that receptionist is not a dispatcher, however.

Sheriff’s deputies also use the station periodically, but they are not there on a permanent basis yet.

Currently, YCSO deputies respond to calls based on what sector of the county they are assigned to work.

D’Evelyn said plans continue for the station, which could include staffing as early as September.
