Mei Wei Wong has stepped down as executive director of the Sedona Arts Center.
According to the center’s Board of Directors, Wong will “explore other opportunities both within and without the arts center.”
Former Board Director Pam Frazier will assume the post and duties of executive director effective immediately.
As Resource Team members, Wong and Frazier worked to formulate a new 10-year strategic plan which was readied in April. The Summer Co-op, which showcases non-juried Sedona Arts Center members, was one of the team’s initiatives that came about due to their collaboration.
According to a statement from the Sedona Arts Center, under Wong’s leadership, the arts center has built strong alliances with other arts and civic organizations and fostered the development of Sedona PhotoFest and the Sedona Plein Air Festival, an Arizona Centennial event.
