The Sedona Red Rock High School football team has had less than ideal seasons in the past few years. Yet, it had players who stuck it out for the love the game.

Keenan Crans and Zane Saxman are starting their senior year at SRRHS.

Crans is the Scorpions starting quarterback and a defensive back. Saxman is a starting offensive tackle and defensive lineman.

They both started playing football in their middle school years, and both love the team and hitting aspects of the game and despise losing. They also know just how low the low points of football can get.

In the 2010 season, the boys’ sophomore year, the team dressed only 11 to 13 players for each varsity game. The average number of players on a high school football team is usually between 35 and 50. The Scorpions were also forced to forfeit their homecoming game that year because they didn’t have enough players to suit up due to injuries suffered the previous week.
