A new group forming in Sedona and the Verde Valley focuses on building a community of sustainability aficionados.

Verde Drinks is a local spin-off of a global movement called Green Drinks International. It is about communities organizing to create a network of people who are in, or want to be in, the environmental and sustainability field, said Lee Feliciano, one of the group’s organizers.

“We’re not really an organized group. It’s like-minded people getting together socially and talking about sustainability like solar energy, gardening or any other related activities,” Feliciano said. “What’s different about Verde Drinks is there is no hard agenda when we get together. It’s more a social event to build a community within our communities.”

Verde Drinks is a group for interested people to get to know each other. It is open to everyone, and there is no cost to join. Meetings are the third Monday of the month from 5 to 7 p.m. in one of the Verde Valley communities.
