Yoga seems to be everywhere nowadays.

It has been practiced for over 5,000 years, and people of all ages continue to enjoy it. In Sedona, it is one of the most popular activities to do, especially outside with the peaceful and gorgeous red rock views.

Most Westernized yoga classes focus on learning physical poses. They also include some forms of breathing and meditation techniques. While some yoga classes are designed purely for relaxation, others build and tone muscles while leaving people feeling energized and relieved of stress. With yoga comes major health benefits that develop flexibility, posture, strength and balance.

“Yoga helps us let go of pent-up emotions, release blocks and align the spine,” said Johanna Mosca, Ph.D., a Sedona yoga instructor of 22 years. “[It also] improves circulation, digestion and brain function, prevents osteoporosis and fosters optimal health and rejuvenation.”
