I remember the first kiss with my most significant boyfriend. In my mind I told myself to pay close attention to every split second because those moments moving in to the kiss were so precious and meaningful to me.
When a beloved family member or friend does something incredible out of left field to raise you higher, or tells you how much you mean to them, or you find a long lost relative who is wonderful and on your wavelength, or make a new good friend you can count on, we can run the gamut between feeling joy to sobbing in happiness.
When you hold a baby, especially if it is yours, or part of your own family, there comes a feeling that is indescribable. As they grow, the sense of belonging together is inexplicably satisfying. Even gazing at a newborn brings a feeling of awe and being closer to the exquisite loving mystery that is God.
Hearing a piece of music that uniquely speaks to you, or brings back a powerful memory can evoke a heart swell and even tears. Or music can simply make your heart be excited and allow you to let your inner thrill thrive.
The first time I pulled onto the ‘strip’ in Las Vegas from Flamingo, in an instant, there was the water show of the Bellagio with the sounds of Andrea Bocelli causing my heart to swell. I moved over one lane to the curb and stopped, allowing myself to be swept away. Then, the immense size of each of the resorts left me with eyes and eyebrows in awe, uttering into my iphone video, It.. is.. AWEsome! IIIIIII’m LOVin’this!
Three nights later I was invited to the Hollywood Bowl for the 100th anniversary of Paramount Pictures, and the Hollywood Bowl orchestra led by conductor David Newman. You can’t ignore the passion that takes you for a ride in the Mission Impossible movie theme song. In fact every movie’s score took over my emotions (as did the film scenes). I was also caught up in watching the conductor’s precise movements of leading crescendos, or focusing only on varying parts of the orchestra, then full on within his passionate heart and body movements.
Sitting in Frank Lloyd Wright’s spiritual Wayfarer’s Chapel two days later in Rancho Palos Verdes overlooking the gorgeous Pacific from above, was heart soothing; just as wonderful for the soul as heart swelling.
It’s nice to ‘get away’ and see new heart swelling scenery and heart soothing sights, hear new sounds, make new, and rekindle old, acquaintance. Sedona is certainly a home sweet home to return to. In fact, that’s why so many visit us from all over the world; for heart soothing. Seeing our landscape everyday keeps me in a perpetual heart swell.
