The Sedona youth cheerleaders have their pom-poms out and are ready to cheer the community into supporting the Scorpions.

For the 2012 season, the Red Rock Youth Football and Cheer program transitioned to the Alliance Youth Sports Association, an independent, nonprofit youth football and cheer organization that prepares the youth for the high school level. According to the website, the association’s mission is to “provide a safe, competitive environment where young athletes will learn, develop, and excel in the fundamentals of football, cheer, sportsmanship, and teamwork.”

The Alliance Sports Youth Association cheer program is a competitive youth cheer organization for girls ranging from 5 to 15 years of age. It is designed to be fun, educational and provide a higher level of competition.

There are currently 17 girls on the squad, ranging from 6 to 12 years old. The girls cheer for the Pee-Wee Scorpion team [fifth- and sixth-graders]. They also perform at one Sedona Red Rock High School varsity football game each year.
