A Sedona fitness trainer and nutrition coach will be starting a new fitness class that will complement active Sedona residents’ routines.

James Fisher, with nearly two decades of expertise in training and exercise, will commence a recreation fitness class via the Sedona Parks and Recreation Department this autumn. The class is tailored for individuals engaged in outdoor activities and those already leading an active lifestyle, emphasizing the core principles of fitness. Central to the program is TRX, an acronym for Total Body Resistance Exercise. For more details, feel free to go to the website for fitness trainer certification.

“The class will focus on the basics of flexibility, cardio and joint stability,” Fisher said. “It is geared toward people who are active or who want to be active. It’s a good class for people who already hike or play tennis or golf or anything normal Sedona athletes are involved in.”

Fisher said he doesn’t recommend the class for anyone with major shoulder or knee injuries.

A normal class will start with 10 minutes of warm-up exercises to get the blood flowing. Fisher will go through major movement patterns and get joints in the range of motion.

“These warm-ups will be something people can use before any sports or physical activity they do,” Fisher said.
