The Scorpions boys and girls teams both ended the 2012 regular season undefeated, breaking records and looking strong for state.

The Sedona Red Rock High School Scorpions boys team finished undefeated making its record 21-0. This is the first season the girls team has even been undefeated, making its record 7-0.

The final meet of the season for the Scorpions was the 2012 Craig Cummins Invitational at Skyline Pool in Mesa on Oct. 20, which was their last qualification meet for state.

“It was just a way for the already state swimmers or the close-to-state swimmers to get qualifying times or move up,” said A. Jay Bronson, SRRHS head swim coach. “We had some amazing swims.”

For the guys, the relays are their strongest events. They broke two school records this season in the 200-yard freestyle relay and the 400-yard freestyle relay.

Jacob Decker, Mackena Koss, Colin Hurkett and Tristan Decker broke the 200-yard freestyle relay by five-tenths of a second and are now seeded first. The same quartet broke the 400-yard freestyle relay by three full seconds and are now seeded in first in that event as well.
