Workers in Yavapai County are some of the lowest paid in the state, according to numbers recently released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
An average American worker earns $903 per week, or roughly $22.58 per hour for a 40-hour work week. Arizona workers, on average earn, $862, or $41 less per week. That totals more than $2,100 less per year on average.
Among Arizona’s 15 counties, Yavapai County has even lower average wages, the third-lowest in the state, at $655 per week, or $16.37 per hour for a 40-hour work week. A Yavapai County resident is paid $248 less per week than the average American. That disparity adds up to $12,896 less per year. Yavapai County residents earn $15 more per week than people working in Mohave County and $60 more per week than those in La Paz County, the state’s lowest paid county.
