Women from all over the state and even a few from abroad came to golf in Sedona wearing their craziest pants.

The Oakcreek Country Club hosted its annual Women’s Invitational, one of the most premiere events at the country club, on Tuesday, May 7. This year’s theme was “Fancy Pants.”

In all, 77 of the women participants were from Arizona and the other 22 came from states like California and Wisconsin and even Canada and England. They all were encouraged to wear the funniest pants they had.

The course was filled with floral, plaid and checkered pattern pants.

“Whoever is in charge [of the event] gets to pick the theme,” Allene Richlie, the tournament chair and vice president of the women’s club at Oakcreek Country Club, said. “I chose ‘Fancy Pants’ because I figured everyone has a pair of pants back in their closet that fits the theme so most wouldn’t have to go out and buy something special for it.”
