Angels top off 15-1 season with win over Timber Rattlers1 min read

The Sedona Angels ended their season with a bang, and with an almost untouched record.

The Sedona’s Little League Minors team ended its season by beating the Verde Valley Timber Rattlers 17-4 on Thursday, May 30, at Riverfront Park in Cottonwood, and just like most of the Angels games this season, the score could have been higher if the five-runs maximum per inning Little League rule wasn’t put into effect each time the Angels were up to bat.

Sedona Angels little league pitcher Robby Sheehan attempts to tag Wyatt Parker of the Camp Verde Dodgers after Wyatt stole home during the game on Tuesday, May 28, at Butler Park in Camp Verde. The Angels took advantage of a lack of communication by the Rattlers as the majority of their runs were scored on wild pitches.

Lead-off hitter Matthew LeBlanc got on base quick and was knocked in by Joey Johnson. Jaiah Grondin, Johnson, Micah Johnson and Robby Sheehan then scored on wild pitches for the first five runs of the game.

LeBlanc started on the mound for the Angels, and even though one Rattler scored on a wild pitch, LeBlanc struck out three batters to end the first inning.
