Sedona aims for dark-sky status1 min read

Sedona may soon become one of only four cities in America to hold a unique distinction.

The local group Keep Sedona Beautiful has been busy this summer garnering support for the city to become a Dark-Sky Community as recognized by the International Dark-Sky Association. If all the requirements are met, Sedona will join Flagstaff, Borrego Springs, Calif., and Homer Glen, Ill., with that honor.

The Sedona City Council will consider a resolution supporting KSB’s efforts to become a Dark Sky City during its next meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 10. The Sedona Fire District gave its support earlier this month.
