There’s the relationship you have with yourself, and the varying ones you have with different people in your life. Every year when the Sun is in the Libra segment of the sky, as it has been since September 22, lasting for nearly 30 days, the spotlight of the sunlight shines on characteristics of relationships.
It’s the New Moon in Libra that occurs at one moment within Libra’s near 30 days of length, that actually opens the floodgates for activity to really begin. That will occur this Friday, Oct. 4, around dinnertime pacific time. It won’t be like any other year’s New Moon in Libra!
Relationships…Many of us learn much more about ourselves by being actively engaged with one or more people we spend time with. It’s easier when it’s with a good family member or old friend that knows you well and shares a history of soul-searching together. Not as calm when getting to know a new person that may play a new role in our lives.
It could be your new classmates, team mates or work mates. It could be a potential date mate. First impressions rate high but is that really you or them? A good bit of meeting one another may reveal a great deal, but pages must be turned to read the finer print, the bigger story.
This New Moon in Libra has us in a box. I say that because the Sun has already begun squaring 2 planets, and opposite another. We’ve started feeling it (government shut down?) and the configuration will be more exact on the New Moon Friday, effecting October. If you could connect the dotted lines of them in ‘heaven,’ it will look just like a square box. What does that mean to your relationships, you wonder?
Well if you are in a closed box, you may need to work your way out of it; to open it and breathe easier. The tools you have for the situation may make it a breeze or a fight. There will be many opportunities that will ask you to rise to them. Will you shine or get in your own way?
Let’s start with determining what the highest and best relationship might be…look like…sound like…act like. Libra rules fairness and harmony. How about two people seeing each other as equal, sharing time and space in order to allow one another to grow and evolve within themselves; understanding we make mistakes along the way, so being kind and forgiving, as well as sharing each other’s good traits and empowering one another, as the pattern is about examining ourselves throughout our days and lives.
No longer is the tradition that man makes the decisions, must be stronger, older, bringing in more income. No longer does the woman’s role require staying home, being the housekeeper and cook, raising children, being virginal or submissive. The male doesn’t need to act rough and macho, not listening; nor does the female need to appear less intelligent and needy.
The square box formation at the New Moon will bring up where we are not balanced in caring equally for yourself and your ‘others.’ The signs involved, besides Libra, are Aries, Cancer and Capricorn; all cardinal signs which are motivated as action starters. This won’t be uneventful. Much will be happening.
You and I will be responding to lots of activity so let’s be certain we know how to cooperate, collaborate, negotiate, agree to disagree, find our own balance for rest and renewal when possible, not get overly emotional without considering how to be practical, grounded, thinking out our replies, and look to ourselves to take responsibility for what we may be drawing to ourselves. It’s time to create a new you and a new us.
The most important relationship is the one we have with ourselves. Can you look past imperfections and see how they are gifts? Can you be patient and kind to yourself rather than constantly counting the ways you believe you mess up? Can you keep from rattling yourself, buying in to what seems wrong and bad, and stay positive until you see the final outcome wasn’t as bad as threatened?
Libra also rules beauty and elegance. Can you take one step upward in how you groom and adorn yourself, presenting your best appearance to those gazing at you, rather than wait for ‘maybe some day?’ Has your comfort zone been having clean underwear in case hospital workers will be exposing you? I jest, but is that it? I promise if you step up how you present yourself, you will feel amazing and your behavior will also naturally draw out your most gracious ways. You are worth it.
Dress for yourself, as well as a gift to your loved ones. Come home ready to refresh and recharge, giving your best self to the relationship rather than leave it all behind with customers. Be as lovely to your close ones as to the customers. Don’t be afraid to discuss a challenge to the degree of pointing out, gently, how you or your significant others might want to look at what we did or how we are, that may simply be the mirror inside you, of what occurred or occurs. Really, do you want a ‘yes’ person as your loving companion? It’s nice to have someone on your side, yet it can also merge with looking deeper in order to evolve and grow.
Yes, some relationships are about physical intimacy, and others just friends. Then there are relationships that are true blue and lovingly live in reality. Might the lover go away if the talk gets spiritually and soulfully vulnerable? Is a person really a friend if they aren’t able or willing to meet you in deep truth? Your truth will set you free, and I hope that you have, or rearrange your world to have the highest and most rewarding togetherness.
