The Sedona Arts Museum has a mission: To create a physical space where the public may go to see Sedona’s history from an artistic point of view. That view would come from artists past and present, living and dead.

The museum began its journey this past spring, becoming a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and holding a reception in West Sedona to persuade members of the community to donate to the cause. The exhibit produced several donated works of art to help portray what the museum, with proper funding, could become.

“John D. Miller provided three suites in Old Marketplace Mall rent-free for three months so we could do the preview museum to demonstrate what we are planning to do: acquire a collection of Sedona art, promote Sedona artists and educate about our history,” said John Warren Oakes, museum president.
