Helen Chua Wood Ernster, of Sedona and Fort Mohave, died Nov. 13.

She is survived by her husband Timothy Ernster; daughter Nathalie Chua Tolentino; sisters Elsie Chua, Nenita Kelly and Leanora Moncrief; brother Paul Moncrief; and stepsons Mark, Scott and Paul Ernster.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Creative Life Center in January. In lieu of flowers and cards, the family requests donations to the Philippines Red Cross Relief Fund benefitting victims of typhoon Haiyan.

A 2008 graduate of Michigan State University, Andrew Pardiac was a Larson Newspapers' copy editor and reporter from October 2013 to October 2017. After moving to Michigan, then California, Pardiac was managing editor of Sonoma West Publishers' four newspapers in Napa and Sonoma valleys until November 2019.
