Richard G. Barstow, 93, of Sedona, died Dec. 8.

He earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan and served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps, 1945 to 1947.
He practiced medicine in Goodrich, Mich., and Denver, Colo.

He is survived by his wife, Vada, five children, two step-children, 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Services and burial will be in Midland, Mich. A memorial gathering will be held in Sedona in January.

Andrew Pardiac

A 2008 graduate of Michigan State University, Andrew Pardiac was a Larson Newspapers' copy editor and reporter from October 2013 to October 2017. After moving to Michigan, then California, Pardiac was managing editor of Sonoma West Publishers' four newspapers in Napa and Sonoma valleys until November 2019.
