Marvin E. Smith, of Sedona, died Dec. 6 in Dexter, Mo.

An Arizona native, he attended grade school on Brewer Road and high school in Flagstaff. In 2001, he and his wife bought a home in Dexter, Mo. to be near their son and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Gay, his son Josh [Teila], grandson Dominic and granddaughter Miley, all of Dexter.

A 2008 graduate of Michigan State University, Andrew Pardiac was a Larson Newspapers' copy editor and reporter from October 2013 to October 2017. After moving to Michigan, then California, Pardiac was managing editor of Sonoma West Publishers' four newspapers in Napa and Sonoma valleys until November 2019.
