Patsy Kittredge has worked in nearly every medium of art. She took up the art of quilting 20 years ago and the fruits of her hard work has paid off with an entry in a national quilt show hosted by the American Quilter’s Society in Phoenix from Wednesday, Feb. 5, through Saturday, Feb. 8.

Kittredge’s quilt, “Savoring Twilight in Venice,” depicts two girls admiring the cityscape. The two girls are modeled after her daughters. The family took a trip to Venice, Italy, several years ago and a photo of the two sparked the idea.

“I like the quiet contemplation going on at the time,” Kittredge said of the scene. She used softer, darker colors in her fabric selections to help properly illuminate the quilt in a dusk timeframe.
