After its performance Wednesday, Jan. 22, the Sedona Red Rock High School boys soccer team may find itself on the outside looking in at the state playoffs.

Mingus Union High School junior Miguel Gonzalez had a goal and an assist and senior Cristian Escobar added two assists as the Marauders blanked the Scorpions 6-0 at MUHS.

“We had a big, gaping hole in our midfield,” SRRHS head boys soccer coach Cindy Hauserman said after the loss, which dropped the Scorpions to No. 23 in the Division III power rankings with two games remaining. “We’re not combining through the midfield, we’re not getting to our attacking third, we’re not connecting the dots.”
