Robert Earl Thompson Jr., 68, of Cottonwood, died Jan. 23.

Born in Elizabeth, N.J., he had been a resident since 2000.

He is survived by his wife Jeanette of Cottonwood; sister-in-law Kazandrah Martin of Sedona; sisters Pam [Jose] Agular and Debra Fela both of New Jersey; daughter Debra of New Jersey; nieces Kimberly, Shannon and Dana; and nephews Danny and Derik.

A 2008 graduate of Michigan State University, Andrew Pardiac was a Larson Newspapers' copy editor and reporter from October 2013 to October 2017. After moving to Michigan, then California, Pardiac was managing editor of Sonoma West Publishers' four newspapers in Napa and Sonoma valleys until November 2019.
