Shirley Knight’s work honored at film fest1 min read

Marie [Shirley Knight] travels up the Oregon coastline to her granddaughter’s wedding in “Redwood Highway,” screening at the Sedona International Film Festival. Along the way, she meets Pete [Tom Skerrit]. Knight will also be honored with a lifetime achievement award at the festival. She said she is curious on how the movie will be received.

Shirley Knight has been making movies since 1958, and she has had no trouble keeping the work coming.

Part of that may be because one of her first movies as an adult, “Sweet Bird of Youth,” garnered her a nomination for an Academy Award. Later, she would work with the author, Tennessee Williams, on stage.

Knight will be at the Sedona International Film Festival for her new film “Redwood Highway” and to be honored for her past work with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
