The Verde Valley Composite Squadron 205 of the Civil Air Patrol saw a change in command Tuesday, April 1. Maj. Vic La Sala received his new title and command of the squadron during a ceremony bringing together the adult and cadet sections of the squadron.

Following preparation by the cadets, La Sala succeeded Lt. Col. John Rosenthal. He was sworn in by Lt. Col. Luis Camus, who spoke on behalf of the Arizona Wing of the CAP. In all, 24 people attended the event.

Following the ceremony, Rosenthal said a few words about those who served under him.

“I will not forget this squadron,” he said. “You guys have been the best. I can truly say it’s been a great run.”
