Junior Andre Davis and senior Travis Okie took home two more sprinting golds, but it was the Sedona Red Rock High School girls track team that won Saturday, April 12, at the Valley Christian Invitational.

Senior Gabrielle Simon threw a personal best in the shot put at 36 feet, 1p inches but got gold in the discus at 109 feet, 5 inches to lead the Scorpions to a 12-point win over Seton Catholic High School and 15 other teams in divisions II through IV at the Chandler meet.

“The girl throwers really are exceptional, to me the highlight as a group,” said head track coach Harry Schneider. “Every single meet we go to, they get to the finals, or darn close.”
