For Andy Dickey, it’s never good enough for government work.

On June 20, the city of Sedona Employee of Year award was presented to Dickey, assistant city engineer and assistant public works director, as part of the employee recognition event held at City Hall.

“It means a lot to me, considering I’ve worked for the city for nine years,” Dickey said. “Being recognized for the things we do by my peers is really nice. It reflects not just my efforts but the efforts of my peers. It’s really a team effort in engineering.”

Dickey was nominated by his coworkers, who cited his “dedication, hard work and positive attitude,” in a press release. “He is highly respected by those he comes in contact with and is an exemplary role model. Andy cares for his staff, the city as a whole and our citizens, treating everyone with respect and dignity,” the release stated.
