During a Day of the Cowboy shooting exhibition July 26 with her father Greg in Uptown, a camera was again following 16-year-old Jessica Kirkham.
Unfortunately for the photographer, it couldn’t follow her fast enough. Using a pistol and double-barreled shotgun, Kirkham blew away balloons and a whole row of cans without ever getting her quick draw captured on still film.
That is how fast the overall women’s world champion can shoot competitively, as shooting media have resorted to video cameras to ensure they capture every movement of the Sedona Red Rock High School junior, who became in July the world’s fastest-shooting woman and fourth-fastest overall Cowboy Action Shooter in the 50,000-member Single Action Shooting Society.
