Racing mountain bikes on a golf course before a beer festival?

No, it never happened in “Caddyshack,” but it will Friday and Saturday, Aug. 22 and 23, at the Sedona Golf Resort.

More than 50 mountain bikers are expected to register for the 12-mile inaugural Sedona Bike & Brew Festival in the Village of Oak Creek at the resort Friday, Aug. 22.

“The biggest thing we want this to be is fun,” said Jim Monahan, owner of a local bike company co-sponsoring the race with six other businesses. “And the more people, the more fun.”
